Large Crowd Turns Out for Elizabeth Borough’s Annual Light-Up Night

Elizabeth Borough kicked off the holiday season on Sunday, November 23rd, as the EADC hosted its annual Light-Up Elizabeth Boro Holiday Event. The celebration, held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., drew a large crowd, with families and residents filling the business district throughout the evening.

Vendors and small businesses were open for shoppers, while visitors took part in a variety of hands-on holiday activities. Streets were lined with guests enjoying ornament making, balloon art, face-painting, candle crafting, and parades.

The festivities began with the 4:30 p.m. parade, which brought spectators out early. Photos with Santa and carriage rides remained popular attractions as lines of families waited patiently along S 2nd Avenue.

A full schedule of performances kept the crowd engaged, including the EF Marching Band at 5:00 p.m., Tribella’s Dance Studio at 5:30 p.m., Mon River Arts at 6:00 p.m., and the Lisa DiGiorio School of Dance at 6:30 p.m. Each performance drew clusters of attendees around the staging area.

Food trucks such as Habachi Lou, Mr. Bulgoogi, Jo & Di’s Cravings, and others stayed busy throughout the night as tons of visitors lined up for warm food. More than a dozen holiday vendors also reported steady traffic as shoppers browsed handmade gifts, collectibles, and local crafts.

The evening concluded with the 7:45 p.m. tree lighting, where a large crowd gathered to countdown the lighting of the borough’s Christmas tree.
